How to Get Your Husband to Talk About Sex (and Actually Like It)

And Actually Like It

We used to avoid the conversation. It felt awkward. Vulnerable. Sometimes even risky. Over time we realized that avoiding it was costing us closeness.

Talking about sex does not have to be clinical or confrontational. It can be curious, playful, and deeply connecting. The key is approaching it as a shared exploration rather than a problem to solve.

We start with low-pressure moments. A quiet evening on the couch. A drive with no distractions. We ask open questions instead of yes-or-no ones. "What felt really good last time?" "Is there something you have always wanted to try?" "How do you feel when we slow down?"

We have learned that men often carry their own quiet fears. Performance pressure. Worries about frequency. Uncertainty about what their partner truly wants. Creating a safe space to talk about those fears is often the turning point.

The most important rule we follow is this: never make the conversation about blame. Make it about curiosity. "I wonder what would happen if..." "I would love to know what feels best for you." When both partners feel safe and curious, the conversation becomes one of the most intimate things you can share.
